Your guide welcomes you at the airport or train station and transfers you to your hotel (view the Yarlung Tsangpo/Brahmaputra River en route). Rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Optional short walk to Potala Square for fountain shows and palace views.
Overnight: Lhasa (No Meal).
Morning: Visit the magnificent Potala Palace—explore its gilded stupas, meditation caves, and historic collections. Afternoon: Head to the spiritual heart of Tibet, Jokhang Temple (home to the 12-year-old Buddha Sakyamuni statue), followed by a stroll around the lively Barkhor Street market and pilgrimage circuit.
Overnight: Lhasa (BB).
Morning: Drepung Monastery—one of the “great three” Gelugpa monasteries; tour the vast complex, kitchen, and nearby Buddhist sculpture workshops. Afternoon: Sera Monastery—watch the famous monk debates (3–5 PM), visit the scripture printing house, sand mandalas, and colorful rock paintings of Buddha.
Overnight: Lhasa (BB).
Breakfast at the hotel. Your guide transfers you to the airport or train station for your onward journey.
