Lomanthang Tour

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu.  

This is the day of your arrival in Kathmandu airport (TIA). At the airport, meet, assist and transfers to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.  

Kathmandu City: Kathmandu Valley, the capital and heart of the country essentially symbolizes all that is Nepal. Katmandu Durbar Square where you will visit Hanuman Dhoka, the old and historic palace of Kathmandu named after monkey God, Hanuman. It is historic seat of royalty. Within the walking distance you will find the tall temple of Taleju from 1549 AD, the large stone statue of Kal Bhairav, the God of destruction. The Big Bell and Big Drum and Hindu Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati peeping from window. Visit the temple of Kumari, the residence of Living Goddess within the vicinity. Kumari means the virgin girl. The girl is selected from Buddhist family. The building has profusely carved wooden balconies and window screen. Next a very interesting temple is Kasthamandap which is believed to be built from a single tree trunk and the name Katmandu is derived from this temple. Swayambhunath: Perched on a hilltop on the south western part of Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is one of the most important religious and cultural sites in Nepal and is associated with the birth of the Kathmandu Valley civilization. Approximately 2000 years old, Swayambhunath stupa, is a dome 20 meters in diameter and 32 meters high and is made of brick and earth mounted by a conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. It is surrounded by many other smaller temples and places of religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists, a perfect example of the symbiotic co-existence of different religious beliefs only found in Nepal. The hill is heavily wooded on all sides with indigenous plant species, and troops of monkeys, giving it the nick name of Monkey Temple. The height of Swayambhunath also makes it a good vantage point and on clear sunny days one can see the Himalayas all the way to the east. Patan Durbar Square: The city lies about 5 kms from the Kathmandu. It is a city of Budhist monuments, Hindu temples and fine wood carvings. Lalitpur is the another name of this city which 'means the city of beauty'. The city is known as the paradise of fine arts.  Patan durbar square located in Patan and is World Heritage Site a Patan Durbar has many famous sites and unique architectures. Krishna Mandi, Bhimsen temple, Hiranya Varna Mahabhihar are just a few among the temples offering you an ecstasy of paintings, wood and metal carvings. The Sundari Chowk contains exquisite samples of woodcarvings, stone and metal sculpture. Patan Dubar Square and the Himalaya that can be seen at a distance make an enchanting scene. Day 03 Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (1.5 hours). Half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara City. Evening 01 hr boating at Phewa lake.

After breakfast, Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (approx 1.5 hrs Flight). Once you reach Pokhara, check-in at the hotel. Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty.  At an elevation lower than that of Kathmandu, it has much more tropical feel to it; a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diverse flowers that prosper in this environment. The enchanting city with a population of around 95,000 has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panaromic views of Himalayan peaks. The valleys surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forest, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and of course, the views of world famous Himalayas. The serenity of the lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. DEVI’S FALL Devi's Falls remains one of the most visited Tourist Attractions in Pokhara. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal, Pokhara is tucked away in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara Valley which is an extension of the Seti Gandaki valley. Devi's Falls also known as the Patale Chhango, can be traced around 2 km south of the spot where the Lake Phewa drains into the Pardi Khola. Here, the terrain drops sharply and the river plunges over the Devi Falls before disappearing into a sink hole. Devi's Falls is a must visit site for you as part of your Sightseeing in Pokhara while you are on your Pokhara Tours. Pokhara is the city in Nepal which is famous for its waterfalls. SETI GORGE The Seti gorge runs through the whole city from north to south and then west to east. At places it is only a few meters wide and the river is so far down below that, at some places it is not visible or audible. In the middle of the city, the gorge widens to a canyon looking like a crater. In the north and south, just outside town, the rivers created canyons, in some places 100 m deep. GUPTESHWOR MAHADEV CAVE Gupteshwor Mahadev cave is probably the longest and attractive cave in south Asia which is located at the pristine location of northwestern part of Pokhara, a world famous tourist destination. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave contains a huge stalagmite worshiped as a Shiva lingam. BINDABASHINI TEMPLE Bindabasini Temple is one of the most popular shrine among the Hindu's people. Locally, this temple is called Bhindhyabasini Mandir. This temple is located on the hilltop and is at 3000 meters from the sea level. This temple is white pagoda styled and is located in the old bazaar of the Pokhara valley. This temple is devoted to the Hindu goddess Durga also known as Shakti or Maa Kali the symbol or the blood thirsty aspect of the goddess Durga. There is the daily worshiping up to 9 days during the greatest festival of the Hindus i.e. Bada Dashain as it is the victory of the truth over the untruth or the demons. So, the sacrifice is given to the goddess on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Just at the opposite side of the Bindabasini Temple, there is another temple called Krishna Mandir where the annual birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated on the day called Krishna Janmaaastami. Other rituals such as marriage, Barta-Bandha are held on this religious shrine. And the scented fragrances of "Dhup" gives the fresh and the cool environment After lunch 01 hour boating on Phewa lake. BOATING The centre of attraction in Pokhara is the Fewa Lake – the Second largest lake in the Kingdom. It is the largest and most enchanting of the three lakes that add to the resplendence of Pokhara. Here, one can sail or row a hired a boat across to the water or visit the island temple in the middle. The favorite home base for the travelers is the western shore. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 Fly to Jomsom and drive to Kagbeni: Morning fly to Jomsom 2,720m/8,921ft (25 min flight)

Fly early morning to Jomsom(2713m./8952ft.) 25 minutes. You will have wonderful flight to Jomsom as Annapurna and Fishtail will be on right hand side and Dhaulagiri and other snowcapped mountains will be on your left hand side. After landing at Jomsom, drive gradual on the ridge of Kaligandai river and open desert to entry Gate of Upper mustang ( Kagbeni). Today is just one hour driving to Kagbeni for digesting the altitude. Kagbeni: To get a taste of Upper Mustang without splurging for the pricy permit, one of the best options is to spend a few nights in Kagbeni, a village along the Annapurna Circuit that straddles the border between Lower and Upper Mustang. Kagbeni has the look and feel of its northern neighbor, and is known as the “Gateway to Upper Mustang.” The town of Kagbeni sits at the bottom of Muktinath Valley, which is scattered with abandoned settlements and irrigation fields. No one knows exactly when or why these places were abandoned. However, legend has it that Kagbeni was founded when two of these villages were destroyed by a demon that had the head of a lion, and a body of a serpent. The surviving villagers came together and founded a new village, which is modern-day Kagbeni. Overnight at lodge.

Day 05Drive to Ghemi (3,520m/11,545ft. – 5 to 6 hrs drive).

After breakfast, we head towards Ghami 3,520m/11,545ft. The drive goes right side of Kaligandaki river via crossing Tyangbe, Chuksang. As we arrive in Chhuksang we will stop to visit small cave monastery and continue drive towards Chaile. After crossing the river we will reach Chaile then we will drive up till to Samar 3,660m/12005ft with crossing Dojong La pass 3,750m/ 12,300ft. At Samar we will stop for lunch and then we will drive till to Ghami via crossing Shyangbochen 3,800m/12,464, Gheling 3,775m/12,382 and Nyi La 4,010m/13,153. Overnight at lodge.

Day 06 Drive to Lomanthang via visiting Dhakmar, Tsarang. (3,810m/12,496ft. 4hrs drive)

Morning drive continue with visiting to Dhakmar 3,820m/12,530ft for short time landscape photography and cross the Tsarang La Pass 3,870m/12,694ft by driving till to Tsarang 3,560m/11,676ft. Upon arrival in Tasarang we will visit to Monastery and stop for Lunch and after lunch we will continue drive to Lomanthang 3,810m/12,496. 4hrs drive, (If people pay interest there are 2 and half hour of side trip to Logheker Monastery 3,950m/12,956ft). Arrival in Hotel and rest of the free at leisure. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07 Visit East northern Valley Explore with visiting to Kora La Border. (4,660m/15,284ft)

Today we will direct drive up to the Kora La border4,660m/15,284ft where you will able to explore the border between Nepal and Tibet but controlled by Chinese. In this drive you will be able to explore the heard of Yaks and other animals and on return we will visit Choser Valley 3,900m/12,792ft where there is able to explore the cave life which is still using by people as attaching with their traditional homes. During this trip there are possible to visit some local houses to explore the culture of the people of these valley with their lifestyle. In this place there is also possible to explore the Cave home at Kenchol Ling where there are more than 100 rooms in one wall with one door. After this visit we will return to hotel with visiting Nyamgal Monastery.4 to 5 hrs drive round trip. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08 Drive to Yara, Ghara and to Luri Gompa and drive back to Lomanthang.

After Breakfast we will drive to Yara 3,650m/ 11,972ft and Ghara Village 3,920m/12,857ft and continue to Luri Gompa 3,820m/12,529ft to explore one of the hidden Kabum and very old cave monastery. There are many things which make Mustang an astonishing place to visit. Luri Gompa is one. Set high on a cliff face the main temple building has been carved out of the hillside to create a cavetemple. Lining the walls is a series of 14th century paintings which depict Indian Mahasiddhas. They are saints of the early Mahayana tradition who achieved siddhi, or extraordinary powers by meditation. Some were real individuals and others mythical. After the Luri Gompa we will return to Ghara and Yara for Lunch and return back to Lomanthang. 6 to 7 hrs drive round trip. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09 Drive back to Kagbeni.

After breakfast drive back to Kagbeni from Lomanthang. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10 Drive to Tatopani via Jomsom and Marpha.

After Breakfast and take off all the camping gear we will drive down to Tatopani via crossing Jomsom and Marpha. We will drive through very narrow and deep canyons as well as rough road along the Kaligandaki river trail till to the bottom of Chaile. The landscape in some places are very attractive with huge artistic. After this point we will drive on the same road till down to Jomsom which we took while entering. Our lunch place will be at Marpha Village 2,670m/8,757ft. After Lunch, we will drive down to Tatopani. After we will reach Tatopani 1,190m/3,903ft (Natural Hot spring) We will taking bath in Hot Spring. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 11 Drive back to Pokhara. Evening walk around lake side. (5-6 hrs. drive)

Afer breakfast drive back to Pokhara via Beni. Evening walk around lake side. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12 Fly back to Kathmandu.

Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Rest of the day free at leisure for shopping. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13 Final Departure.

After breakfast free time at your own. Later transfer to airport for final departure.
