Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you with a traditional Nepali scarf (Khada) and transfer you to the luxurious Dwarika's Hotel. Spend the rest of the time settling in and acclimating to the city's vibrant energy at an elevation of about 1,400 meters. In the evening, enjoy a delightful welcome dinner at Krishna Arpan restaurant, where you'll savor multi-course Nepali cuisine like dal bhat (lentil curry with rice), momos (dumplings), and local specialties, accompanied by cultural insights from your guide. This sets the tone for your Kathmandu heritage adventure.

Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. (No Meal)

10am: After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, head to Swayambhunath Stupa, a 2,500-year-old Buddhist site perched on a hilltop. Climb the 365 steps (or take a vehicle alternative) to reach the stupa, adorned with prayer flags and the all-seeing eyes of Buddha, offering panoramic views of the valley. Spot playful monkeys and spinning prayer wheels as you learn about its significance in Tibetan Buddhism. Next, venture to Patan (Lalitpur), the "City of Fine Arts" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore Patan Durbar Square, marveling at ancient palaces, temples, and courtyards built in traditional Newari style. Highlights include the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar) with its gilded roofs and intricate murals, Mahabouddha Temple (a terracotta masterpiece resembling India's Mahabodhi Temple), and a special Kumari Darshan – a glimpse of the living goddess Kumari, a young girl revered as the incarnation of Taleju. The afternoon is free for you to wander Patan's artisan workshops, shop for handmade crafts, or relax in a local café. Return to the hotel for the evening.

Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu. (Meals: Breakfast)

10am: Drive to Bhaktapur, another UNESCO gem known as the "City of Devotees." Immerse yourself in its well-preserved medieval architecture, starting with Bhaktapur Durbar Square, featuring the 55-Window Palace and Nyatapola Temple – Nepal's tallest pagoda. Stroll to Dattatraya Square, home to ancient monasteries and the famous Peacock Window, a masterpiece of wood carving symbolizing prosperity. Continue to Pottery Square, where local artisans demonstrate traditional pottery-making on spinning wheels, firing clay pots in open kilns – a nod to Bhaktapur's centuries-old craft heritage. The afternoon offers free time to explore hidden alleys, sample local yogurt (juju dhau) in earthen pots, or visit nearby temples. This day captures the essence of Nepal's cultural preservation amidst everyday life. Return to Kathmandu for a restful evening.

10am: Begin your day with a visit to Boudhanath Stupa, the largest spherical stupa in Nepal and a focal point for Tibetan exiles. Circumambulate the massive white dome (kora) with pilgrims, listen to monks chanting in surrounding gompas (monasteries), and absorb the serene atmosphere filled with incense and butter lamps. This site, also UNESCO-listed, represents enlightenment and is ideal for photography or meditation. Proceed to Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Observe rituals along the Bagmati River, including cremations (from a respectful distance), and admire the temple's pagoda-style architecture with silver doors and erotic carvings. Non-Hindus can view from outside, but the spiritual energy is palpable. The afternoon is yours to explore Thamel, Kathmandu's tourist hub. Browse souvenir shops for your friends and family. It's the perfect way to unwind before departure.
